Everyone dreams of being a NEET topper but only a handful can secure this title. There are two ways to look at this exam. One that there are lakhs of students and the competition is tough. Another is that you just need one seat.

Just one position to secure. Both ways students have been giving their best in establishing the ranking they dream of, to get their hands in the best medical college that exists.

Start Preparing for NEET in 5 easy steps

Read Through the Syllabus:

Before you get into the actual preparation strategy for NEET, go through the syllabus. The topics, the length of those topics, the difficulty level, and their importance in the exam. Mark the important topics to focus on.

As for Physics, you have to be clear with your basics in Optics, Nuclear Physics, Mechanics, and Thermodynamics. Similarly, for chemistry, it would be a mistake if you leave out any basics from General Organic Chemistry, Periodic Table, Coordination Chemistry, Mole Concept, Chemical Bonding, and topics like Ecology & Environment, Genetics, Cell Biology, Basics of Biotechnology, Morphology, Physiology of Animals & Plants, Reproduction for biology

Understand the Question Paper:

If you don’t understand the questions that are being asked, then simply learning all the topics is of no use. The best way to crack NEET exams is to know where would you have to hit. What questions you can expect and how to answer them diligently?

Past years’ papers are as crucial as the syllabus itself. Every topic becomes clear once you know the questions asked from it or the weight every chapter carries. Only when you go through the past papers you will find that Biology carries more weight than other subjects.

Here’s a chapter-wise weightage for every subject by. This helps in knowing which topic to focus more on.

Create a Study Plan:

Now that you’ve understood the topics you need to cover and analyzed the time you should dedicate to every topic as per the questions. If you are preparing for NEET along with your board exams then your preparation strategy has to be aligned with it.

Almost every student follows this ideal way of appearing for the NEET exam, and this special attention can change the whole gameplay for you. How? Board exams focus more on knowledge and require your attention more on the theoretical aspect while NEET exams are more on the application of knowledge.

Studying from the perspective of MCQs for NEET will require a different strategy than from the perspective of objective and subjective for board exams.

Set Realistic Goals:

Covering the same topic in different ways to cover your NEET and board exams syllabus without hurting your preparation can be a bit difficult. Instead, I would suggest picking one topic, at least, every day. Keep the past years for both side by side.

Understand the question pattern and eventually complete the topic. Then come to Ok Mock and attempt the mock exam for that particular topic.

This way you get to understand what the questions were, how prepared are you, and what you still need to clear your basics. Use efficient learning techniques. I came across this editorial from University of St. Augustine that you can refer to. Pick the realistic ones that can help you and make your studying smart.

Stick to the Plan:

Consistency is important, One topic every day can give you 30 topics in a month than 5 topics a day but only for 5 days a month. Understand your potential and decide the number of topics.

If you can complete 3 every day while taking the free mock tests for NEET. Make a minimal target and stick to it while trying to increase the potential. The key is to pace forward with a plan that is practical but nearest to the ideal.

And stick to solving mock tests, because when you attempt a lot of free NEET mock tests, you get to understand your position.

If you get through these 5 steps with proper planning and near-to-perfect execution, your preparation will definitely give you an edge to crack NEET exams with good scores. So study hard and practice free NEET mock exams harder.

All the very best for your journey to be a doctor!
